It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our colleague Henri Happy, Director of the ENGSYS Doctoral School, on November 15, 2025. Throughout his career as a teacher-researcher, his dedication to his various roles was exemplary, particularly in the establishment and operation of the SPI and then ENGSYS Doctoral Schools at the University of Lille. He will be remembered as a highly rigorous colleague, always readily available and attentive, who placed the success of doctoral students at the heart of his concerns.

Henri has been very involved in running our network, always willing and generous with his time to get involved.

Among other things, for several years he had been organizing, with Christine Prelle, the exchange of good practices around the directors of doctoral schools of REDOC SPI: he was unanimously liked, so endearing was his personality.
