Technological Research Institutes

"Eight technological research institutes (IRTs) have been awarded the label by the State as part of the Investments for the Future program. Designed to support an industrial strategy of conquest in promising markets, the IRTs are based on long-term partnerships between higher education and research institutions and companies. Their ambition: to intensify the Industry-Research-Training dynamic."

Carnot Institutes

"The Carnot are public research structures, recognized and labeled by the Ministry of Research for their competence in conducting collaborative research projects in the service of innovation in companies – start-ups, SMEs, mid-sized companies or large groups."

Competitiveness clusters

"Competitive clusters bring together companies of all sizes, research actors and training establishments in a defined territory and around a defined theme, in order to develop synergies and cooperation around a specific sector of activity.

This can include emerging technological fields (drones, decarbonization, etc.) or more mature ones (automotive, aeronautics, etc.).

The ultimate goal of these competitiveness clusters is to support innovation in these territories."
