"Strengthening exchanges between public research laboratories and socio-economic circles , promoting the employment of doctors in companies and contributing to the innovation process of companies established in France, such is the vocation of the Industrial Conventions for Training through Research (Cifre). Funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the Cifre system has continued to gain in attractiveness since its creation in 1981.
With the research programming law,
the CIFRE system is growing to achieve a target of
2,150 Cifre per year in 2027 (compared to 1,500 in 2020).
